LIV Golf have been blamed for for allegedly stirring up rumours about Rory McIlroy considering a massive switch to their tour - with some believing it to be a distraction before the Masters Tournament.
City A.M speculated that McIlroy was on the brink of striking a colossal £682 million ($850m) deal with LIV. If true, this would represent the most significant move yet in golf's ongoing struggle between professional circuits.
However, by Tuesday, McIlroy dismissed these assertions, re-stating his commitment to the PGA Tour.In an interview with Golf Channel, he stressed, "I think I've made it clear over the past two years that I don't think it's something for me," continuing, "That doesn't mean I judge people who have gone and played [LIV Golf]." He added: "One of the things I've realised over the past two years is people can make their own decisions for whatever they think is best for themselves and who are we to judge them for that?
For me, my future is here on the PGA Tour... I'm sure there's players who are still playing on the PGA Tour who still talk to the guys from LIV and had offers."In closing, McIlroy was adamant saying, "It's never even been a conversation for us.
