A couple decided they'd rather fly to spend 10 hours in Dublin than pay for 'scandalous' day tickets to London. Keith McCormack, 57, and his wife Jill, went on a "mad" trip to the Irish city after seeing how expensive it was to travel from their home in Liverpool to London.

With the train ticket from Liverpool to London costing £101 for the pair, the couple opted to pay jus £36 for two return flights to Dublin.

For their journey the duo had to wake up at 6.30am for their Ryan Air flight from Liverpool airport to Dublin in April this year.

In Dublin they enjoyed a day of breakfast, lunch and walks around the castle along with a dance at the Temple Bar before going back home to Liverpool in time for bed and a cuppa.
