A woman was tricked out of hundreds of pounds when using a cash machine in Eccles. At about 2pm on August 5th the victim used an ATM machine in Church Street in the town centre when a conman struck.

The victim had put her card into the machine and entered her pin number to withdraw £30. A man then leaned against the screen saying his card was stuck in the machine and the money dispensed would be his.

The male pressed £500, took the cash when dispensed and walked away with it. The suspect is black, of average height, large build, and in his later 20s. Things to look out for are devices attached to the machine – some are more obvious than others. If you do see something suspicious contact the police and the bank.
