Another product has been added to a list of recalled cheeses over E.coli fears, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned. The FSA issued a notice on Christmas Eve, December 24, for Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese, warning that four different products may contain the dangerous bacteria.
On Wednesday, December 27, the FSA updated its warning adding Waitrose's Farmhouse Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese to the list. The cheeses may have been included in Christmas hampers or been given as gifts, the FSA warned.
Smoked Lancashire, Mature Lancashire, Tasty Lancashire, and Mild and Creamy Lancashire are among the affected cheeses made by the company, based in Mill Lane, Preston. coli. Anyone who has bought the cheese should ensure they do not eat it and keep it away from other foods. Products can be taken back to the retailer for a full refund, the FSA said.
