Greater Manchester Police's organised crime task force has cracked a ring of violent criminals that were importing drugs into the country by hiding them in sweet packets and bottles of soft drinks.
After arresting the Bolton-based drug traffickers, they also found rifles and other weapons. Yesterday (January 22), the Serious Organised Crime Group of specialist detectives, alongside other officers, carried out a number of warrants across Greater Manchester, all at addresses related to individuals thought to be involved in a vast criminal network.
This network stretched across the Atlantic, importing Class A drugs, including methamphetamine, from America. Working with customs officials on both sides of the pond, police tracked packages containing illicit drugs to addresses across Bolton.
Then, this morning (January 23), these specialist officers executed two warrants that led to the arrest of two men, aged 29 and 43, on suspicion of conspiracy to import Class A controlled substances, as well as money laundering offences. Try MEN Premium now for FREE...
