Van and car go up in flames as emergency services rush to Scots blaze scene

Emergency services rushed to a Scots road on Tuesday night after two vehicles burst into flames.Crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to Newmills Road in Dalkeith around 6.30pm to reports of a van and car on fire.Officers from Police Scotland quickly cordoned off the area and closed the road in both directions as fire fighters battled the blaze.Footage taken at the scene shows both of the vehicles engulfed in bright orange flames as thick clouds of black smoke billow into the air, Edinburgh Live reports.While another image captured by a nearby resident shows the road cordoned off by police.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed crews mobilised one appliance to the scene at 6.29pm, where they were met with a well alight car and van.
