Two teenage girls charged in connection with assault on woman, 47, in Prestwick

Two teenage girls have been charged in connection with an assault to serve injury on a 47-year-old woman in Prestwick.The girls, both aged 15, were charged following the incident which took place on Main Street, Prestwick around 8pm on Saturday, July 29.

A report will be sent to the Scottish Children's Reporter and Procurator Fiscal.Meanwhile cops have vowed to step up 'reassurance patrols' across hotspots within South Ayrshire as they pledge to clampdown on antisocial behaviour.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Two girls aged 15 have been charged in connection with an assault to severe injury on a female aged 47, which took place on Main Street, Prestwick.

It happened around 8pm on 29 July 2023. A report will be sent to the Scottish Children’s Reporter and Procurator Fiscal."Reassurance patrols shall continue this weekend across known hotspots within South Ayrshire to identify anyone involved in antisocial behaviour."
