TRNSMT staff blasted after teen battered into coma as they "stood and watched"

The family of Lee Paton, 16, have slammed stewards at TRNSMT for "standing back and watching" as two thugs jumped on his head in an unprovoked attack that left him in a coma on July 13.Lee's girlfriend, Paige Borland, also 16, said she was forced to use her body as a "human shield" in a desperate bid to protect him until police officers arrived.Lee, from Patna in Ayrshire, suffered such severe injuries that he was placed on ventilator to save his life.Lee’s dad, Tam Paton, told the Record he has been left infuriated after his son told him about the lack of response from the security team at TRNSMT.The 32-year-old told the Record: "Lee and Paige told me that the security guards just stood and watched while those two animals stamped on my son's head.“They said the stewards didn't even move until a police inspector at the festival rushed over.
It’s shocking that they didn't get involved. "His girlfriend Paige had to lie over Lee to protect him. If it wasn’t for her actions, his injuries could have been far worse."If he had suffered any more blows to his head we could be looking at a completely different story."As a parent you hope your child goes to a festival like this and that they are safe.
At the very least you expect security guards to stop these fights before they get out of hand."We previously told how Lee had been attending his first ever music festival when the vicious attack took place.
