A mum has joined the fight to end an epidemic of youth violence in Scotland after her son was left permanently scarred in an attack that was filmed for Snapchat.

The mum-of-four has told how her 13-year-old son was left requiring surgery after he was ambushed by a gang in Edinburgh as he made his way home from Princes Street on June 18.

The teenager, who is partially sighted, was set upon by a group of around 20 male youths, who were not known to him, while he waited at a bus stop.The boy's mum has shared the horrifying details of her son's attack as part of the Record's Our Kids ...
