Team spirit was the order of the day as Stirling Albion fought back from behind twice to snatch a dramatic late point at Queen of the South on Saturday.The Binos were staring down the barrel of a defeat that would have been difficult to take after edging the proceedings at Palmerston, with Josh Todd’s second-half volley for Queens looking to have sealed the points.But Stirling hitman Dale Carrick popped up on the eve of injury time to stab home a leveller for his eighth league goal of the season.It’s one that keeps the Binos above the Doonhamers in the League One table ahead of a tricky pair of matches which begin with the visit of runaway leaders Falkirk to Forthbank on Saturday.
Stirling boss Darren Young felt a point was the least his troops deserved – and paid tribute to their character in keeping on going in the search for the important equaliser.Young said: “It was a well-deserved point and we’re actually disappointed that we haven’t won.
I’m delighted with the attitude and desire we showed to come back into the match twice, that was magnificent.“I’m delighted from playing a full-time team in midweek and a full-time team today and we’ve come out with two draws and possibly unlucky not to get a win from both.“Five points out of nine for the week is not too bad, we possibly deserved that win today but we won’t complain, we’ll kick on and see where it takes us.
We had to use our five subs and every one of them played their part, including young Rudi [Molotnikov] getting his debut.“You know what you’re going to get with this bunch of boys – a togetherness and a desire to work hard for each other, we played some great football and there were some top performances across the team.”The Binos were threatening to be blown
