Coronation Street fans wanted answers as they spotted a major change in the Rovers Return. The iconic boozer has seen the best and worst of the street over the years and recently faced a period of closure after landlady Jenny Connor was forced to sell up.
A result of crippling costs amid the Cost of Living crisis, Jenny sold the beloved pub to Newton and Ridley and all seemed well as she was able to continue running the pub with the help of her staff - Daisy Midgeley, Sean Tully, Glenda Shuttleworth and Gemma Winter-Brown.
However, the jubilation didn't last long as they discovered Newton and Ridley were being sold to another company, Waterford Incorporated.
Waterford's manager arrived to break the news that they were closing the Rovers for an extensive refurbishment and that the staff's contracts had terminated with immediate effect.
