Rylan Clark has emerged as the front-runner to take over from Jermaine Jenas on BBC's The One Show, following news of Jenas' departure.
Jermaine Jenas, 41, found himself relieved of his duties by the BBC on Thursday (August 22), amidst complaints regarding his conduct.
Reports later surfaced that he had sent "unsolicited texts" to a female colleague at The One Show. Despite often featuring as both a presenter on the prime-time show and a football pundit on Match of the Day, Jenas expressed his dismay, noting that the dismissal took him by surprise.
With his slot vacant, bookies have turned their eyes to TV personality Rylan Clark as a potential successor. Having already won over audiences through his slots on ITV's This Morning and other shows, Rylan currently heads the betting odds at 9/2 at betideas.com for a full-time position on The One Show.
