Police found a baby laid across the front seat of a car after they stopped the driver outside a school in Whitefield. Officers at Greater Manchester Police's Roads Policing Unit stopped the car at around 3pm yesterday (April 23) as they carried out routine checks.

The baby was found unrestrained and laid across the front seat of the car, which had previously been travelling along the road.

Officers then also found other children on the backseat who didn't have their seatbelts on, police said. There was also a baby seat in the back of the car - which wasn't being used.
