Suspect named and charged with attempted murder of Greater Manchester Police officer

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a Greater Manchester Police officer was hit by a van in Sale. The officer was called to a 'domestic incident' on Beech Road in Sale on Sunday evening (May 5).

While responding to this incident, he was hit by a van, police said. He was left with a fractured leg and is now recovering from his injuries.

He was due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (May 8). Woods was remanded into custody.
