EXCLUSIVE: Oxygen is exploring a slew of murders in Pike County, Ohio in its latest true-crime docuseries.

The NBCUniversal-owned cable network is launching The Pike County Murders: A Family Massacre. It tells the story of eight murders in the area, which is 60 miles from Cincinnati.

In 2016, seven adults and a 16-year old boy from the Rhoden family were shot execution-style across three houses and in a nearby camper.

Center to the case was the presence of marijuana cultivation and cockfighting operations at some of the crime scenes. In November 2018, four members of the Wagner family, who they called friends of the family that was massacred, were charged with the murders and Edward “Jake” Wagner, an ex-boyfriend of victim Hanna Rhoden and father of her three-year-old daughter, Sophie, pleaded guilty to all eight murders but admitted to shooting only five of the eight victims.
