More than 75,000 people in Greater Manchester have taken part in an 'inspiring' back to work scheme over the last 10 years. The Working Well programme was set up in 2014 to tackle long-term unemployment that has plagued the city-region for decades.
According to Annual Population Survey from Nomis, the unemployment in Greater Manchester fell last year, but it is still higher than the national average and higher than across the North West as a whole.
The 'family of services' commissioned by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority offers intensive, personalised support and has successfully helped 26,000 people into work.
