The Chase star Jenny Ryan has opened up on experiencing "paralysing anxiety" in her career, as she shared how she's fought not to let her struggles in life "define her".

The Bolton-born chaser, who is a quiz genius on the ITV fan-favourite gameshow, talked about her personal difficulties amid her friend and co-star Paul Sinha's own health issues with Parkinson's disease.

The 41 year old red-head admitted she'd suffered intense fear over signing up to take part in Celebrity X Factor back in 2019, but she was determined to "put her head above the parapet" and take a chance.

She explained she's terrified of "being rejected," but despite her worries in the build-up to the series, she ended up wowing the judges.
