Amy Dowden has been seen breaking down in tears while wearing a cold cap as she undergoes chemotherapy treatment. The Strictly Come Dancing star has been bravely sharing updates on her journey after revealing she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Amy, 32, announced her diagnosis last month after she discovered a lump in her right breast before going on her honeymoon with her husband Ben Jones.

She has since undergone a mastectomy and reconstruction and had been waiting for news of what treatment would follow. While hoping for a less aggressive form of treatment so she could return to Strictly later this year, at the end of last month, Amy shared how she was dealt a "massive blow" when she confirmed doctors found "more tumours" and another type of cancer as her new course of treatment means she won't be able to compete in the hit show. And in a new update, the Welsh dancer has again taken to Instagram where she shared a photo of herself to her Instagram Story, showing her in her hospital bed and wearing a cold cap which is designed to reduce blood flow to the scalp and is sometimes used during chemotherapy in order to help minimize hair loss.
