Pupils at a Monklands school are flying the flag for the environment after earning an impressive ninth successive eco accolade.

Youngsters and staff at St Bernard’s Primary in Coatbridge have been awarded a ninth eco flag rewarding two years of work ranging from litter picks and minimising single-use plastic to recycling uniforms and special clothes plus supporting charities.

They raised their latest flag at a special ceremony during a double celebration, as they also marked the opening of the school’s hugely-popular new sensory garden.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
