South Lanarkshire Council is promoting Safer Internet Day today and raising awareness. February 7 marked the twentieth edition of Safer Internet Day and South Lanarkshire Child Protection Committee is supporting the event and encouraging everyone to come together for a better internet.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated across Europe, in the UK, and the Safer Internet Centre is organising campaigns and learning based around the theme of ‘want to talk about it?

There are free educational resources for different age groups including for three to seven-year-olds, seven to 11-year-olds, 11 to 14-year-olds and 14 to 18-year-olds.There’s also space for young people to share their thoughts on the UK Safer Internet Centre’s video wall, they can also get their voices heard on the youth charter and there’s also support for parents and carers.The South Lanarkshire Child Protection Committee brings together all agencies involved in protecting children, and a main duty is to raise awareness of child protection issues across South Lanarkshire, including children and young
