SNP appeal to Labour and Lib Dem supporters to back them in Tory-held seats
dailyrecord.co.ukThe SNP have appealed to Labour and Liberal Democrat supporters to lend them votes in Tory-held seats at the next General Election to "lock the Tories out of Scotland".
The SNP came second in each of the Scottish seats which the Conservatives won in 2019 and believes it can wipe the Tories out of Scotland if enough Labour and Lib Dem supporters get behind them.
The six Tory-held seats in Scotland include Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross' Moray, junior minister Andrew Bowie's West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine and Scotland Secretary Alister Jack's Dumfries and Galloway.
Ross has a majority of 513 votes, while Bowie is 843 ahead of the SNP and Jack is 1,805 ahead.In Ross' seat, if just 11 per cent of Labour and Lib Dem voters had lent their votes to the SNP in 2019, he would have lost.
