Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in men in Scotland and there can be no signs for many years.Almost one in two men in Scotland will be affected by prostate disease at some time in their life, with one in 10 of these men likely to develop prostate cancer, according to Prostate Scotland.
The disease can be fatal, but the chances of recovery are much greater if the cancer is caught early. Therefore it is important to know the warning signs in a bid to get the medical attention and early diagnosis that can lead to the prompt implementation of a treatment plan - this can be life saving.
The prostate is a small glad found between the penis and the bladder. The gland increases in size as men age - known as prostate enlargement.
However, this is not linked to cancer. Prostate cancer often causes no noticeable symptoms until the cancerous mass begins to put pressure on the urethra, causing discomfort when men urinate, as writes Mirror.
