Sinead O'Connor's cause of death revealed one year on

Just over a year on from the death of Sinead O'Connor her cause of death has now been confirmed.The Irish singer died aged 56 on July 26 last year - and the Irish Independent have now reported that she died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma, citing the Grammy winner's death certificate.According to the publication, the certificate said her death was a result of "exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma together with low grade lower respiratory tract infection." In Lambeth, London, last week Sinead's death was registered by her former husband John Reynolds.The Nothing Compares 2 U singer was found "unresponsive" at a home in London on July 26, 2023.

Last August thousands of mourners attended her funeral in the small coastal town of Bray in north County Wicklow in Ireland.

As reported by the Mirror, fans lined the streets and threw flowers at the passing hearse as the singer’s life was celebrated and she was put to rest in a single plot at Deansgrange Cemetery on Dublin’s southside.When announcing Sinead's death, a statement read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad.

Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time." Southwark Coroners Court said in early January: "This is to confirm that Ms O'Connor died of natural causes.
