The world's first inland surf lagoon has closed down. In a statement online bosses at Adventure Parc Snowdonia in North Wales said they were 'bitterly disappointed'.
The attraction opened eight years ago with the help of £4m of Welsh government funding. The project transformed a redundant former aluminium works in Dolgarrog into a surfing paradise, but bosses have said that the high costs of the machinery that made it work were too much, WalesOnline reports.
A 'mechanical failure' in August last year led to it being announced the waves at the surf lagoon would be switched off for the rest of 2022.
