A man died after 'unlawful force' was used on him by another man, a jury at his inquest has ruled. David Molloy - pictured for the first time today after a photograph was released by his family - died at the Royal Bolton Hospital in the early hours of September 10, 2017.
Mr Molloy, a bouncer and plant hire operative from Swinton, Salford, was arrested after police were called to the property on Elgin Street in Halliwell, Bolton, the night before. READ MORE: How detectives were 'one frame away' from catching Robert Hart's Parklife killer While at the property, Mr Molloy's family's legal team said he consumed cocaine, nitrous oxide-filled balloons and a small amount of alcohol.
He then began to 'behave in a strange manner', including rummaging through drawers and ripping up paper. In a statement released after the conclusion of the inquest, his family's solicitor said he was asked to leave the property, but a physical altercation with another man occurred when he refused to do so.
Mr Molloy, who was 48, went on to be placed in a series 'chokeholds', rendering him unconscious, said the solicitor. Officers arrived and found him on the kitchen floor ripping up a birthday card.
