Relieved Scotland star Scott McTominay has moved to allay fears over his knee injury and his place at Euro 2024.The Manchester United star limped out of his side’s weekend draw with Burnley.
He was sent for scans on Monday and the response is that his knee injury is not as bad as was first feared. McTominay, posting on Instagram, said: “I slipped and fell awkwardly on my knee similar to against Chelsea.
Nothing serious, just hyper-extension, but I thought it was worse than it was. Hoping to be on the pitch very soon to help the (Man U) team as much as I can.”That's good news for Steve Clarke who faced an anxious wait on McTominay’s scan results.
United manager Erik ten Hag had ruled him out of United’s next clash away to Crystal Palace but he will be looking to get back for their European push and FA Cup Final against Manchester City.McTominay was a key player for the Scots in qualifying, netting seven goals and if fit would be key at the finals.
