People in Scotland may wake up to snow on Christmas morning and the run-up to the big day, according to data from weather forecasters.
New weather maps from WXCharts have predicted snow depths of up to 30cm on Christmas Day, with areas in the Highlands predicted to be hit the hardest.
According to the forecasters, the snow is most likely to fall in the north of Scotland, in areas like Fort William and Inverness - but there's a chance it could appear as far south as Glasgow or Ayr.
The latest data from WXCharts shows a blanket of snow sweeping across Scotland on the evening of December 23. And from midnight on Christmas Day, a separate snow depth chart shows that some of this snow is likely to stick around, especially when it comes to higher grounds in the north of the country such as Inverness, where it could lie as deep as 30cm as the day goes on.
