A new study has revealed the best city in Scotland for a night out, and it is neither Glasgow nor Edinburgh.One of the best parts about the festive season is celebrating the end of the year with a night on the town with friends.

No matter where you head in Scotland for a night out, you're likely to have a good time, but it is no secret that many Scots gravitate towards the country's two largest cities.However, as reported by the Scottish Daily Express, it is a smaller city that is in fact Scotland's party capital according to a recent study.

Data analysed by experts at online casino Luck.com has revealed that Perth has emerged on top for the best night out in Scotland — and ninth best in the UK.To find the top party spots across the nation, the experts looked at the number of bars and clubs in each city, as well as the number of pubs, the average cost of a pint, the average cost of a takeaway, and safety scores for walking alone at night.Scotland's second smallest city has, according to Luck.com, 76 pubs per 100,000 people and 23 nightclubs or bars.

Additionally, a pint was found to cost on average £3.25, while the city also rated highly in terms of safety for walking home at night.Looking at travel website TripAdvisor, the highest-rated pub in Perth is The Caledonian on High Street, with the most recent review on the site reading: "Perfect pub (especially if you're a St.
