Police are hunting for a ‘runaway driver’ after a smashed up motor was discovered lying on its roof near a Scots golf course.Officers were called to the scene on Craigton Road in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, in the early hours of Wednesday morning following reports of a one vehicle crash.A picture obtained by the Record shows the dark-coloured motor suffered extensive damage and landed upside down after crashing through a fence.Police Scotland have confirmed that no driver was found despite an extensive search.The stricken vehicle remains at the scene five days later while a probe into the circumstances of the crash is currently underway.A statement from the force said: “Around 2.15am on Wednesday, 19 July, 2023, police received a report of a one-car crash on Craigton Road, Milngavie.“Officers attended and searched the area but there was no trace of the driver.
