Schools in Renfrewshire to close this week as last-minute strike talks fail

Three days of strikes in Renfrewshire schools will go ahead from tomorrow after a last-minute pay offer was rejected.Local authority body Cosla was given an extra £80 million by the Scottish Government to try and settle the dispute and avoid the strikes involving school support staff including cleaners, caterers, janitors and administrators.The pay offer put to several unions on Thursday would have seen the lowest paid earn around £2,000 a year more.It was rejected by Unison.

They will walk out on September 26, September 27 and September 28 in 24 council areas.
