Chris Hemsworth

Christopher Hemsworth (born 11 August 1983) is an Australian actor. He rose to prominence playing Kim Hyde in the Australian TV series Home and Away (2004–07) before beginning a film career in Hollywood by taking on parts in the science fiction film Star Trek (2009) and the thriller A Perfect Getaway (2009).

Hemsworth went on to star in the fantasy film Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), the war film Red Dawn (2012), the action thriller Blackhat (2015), the biographical thriller In the Heart of the Sea (2015), the comedy Ghostbusters (2016), and the Men in Black film series spin-off Men in Black: International (2019). His most critically acclaimed roles include the comedy horror The Cabin in the Woods (2012) and the biographical sports film Rush (2013), in which he portrayed James Hunt.

Rishi Sunak has raised the case of detained Scots man Jagtar Singh Johal with the Indian Prime Minister at the G20 summit in New Delhi.

The UK Prime Minister confirmed he brought up Jagtar's case with Narendra Modi during a meeting, alongside a range of other consular issues.It comes after the Tory PM refused to commit to lobbying for Jagtar's release.

Jagtar, from Dumbarton, was detained in northern India when he was there for his wedding in 2017. The Sikh blogger was locked up and accused of being involved in a political murder plot.While an investigation by the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found there was no legal basis for his imprisonment, the 36-year-old has remained in prison for six years and faces the death penalty.Jagtar claims he has been tortured with methods including electric shocks over his activism and campaigning for Sikh human rights.

Speaking to broadcasters at the G20 summit venue in New Delhi, Sunak confirmed he was able to raise Jagtar's case.He said: "Yes, I was able to, alongside a range of other consular issues that Prime Minister Modi and I discussed in the time that we had.
