Heath and nutrition scientist Professor Tim Spector has spoken about how an alcoholic drink he’s fond of can still be had - with some health benefits.

The professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London and founder of the Zoe health app revealed his favourite tipple is red wine - and explained that it’s so much better for your health than white.

Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Prof Spector emphasised that medical evidence suggests beyond doubt that alcohol in general is bad for you.

However he added that if you really do fancy a tipple then there is only one choice. He said: “I can’t deny it, I like wine.
