Police are hunting a 'dangerous' suspect who escaped from the clutches of cops after they arrested him and took him to hospital for treatment.

The public have been warned not to approach David Cummins, who escaped from police custody today after he had been arrested and taken to Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport.

The 36-year-old from Wythenshawe was being treated at the hospital when he fled 'lawful custody'. He was wearing Nike trainers with no laces as he fled. In a post on the force's X (Twitter) account, GMP published a picture of Cummins and said: "Can you help police trace - David Cummins (16/03/1987) - who escaped lawful custody today (06/09/2023) in Stockport. "Cummins is now wanted & a dangerous individual who should not be approached by members of the public.
