A four-year-old has been left "scarred for life" after being attacked by a dog while playing in the park. Daisy Fagan required stitches in her cheek after the black terrier left blood "squirting" from her face. The family say that the girl now wakes up every night crying from the nightmares of the mauling last month.

According to Bristol Live, police are powerless to seize the dog which lives nearby as it isn't a banned breed.Mum Charlotte Slyfield, 28, has called for more to be done about dogs that attack - irrespective of the pooch's class or pedigree..

She said: "The dog has done the same thing as a banned breed, so I can’t see the difference.“This little terrier has come along and tried to take her face off.

It’s just not good enough really, to be honest. There’s no justice for my daughter there. I’ll remember that incident forever and to me, it feels like the dog’s got away with it.“She could have permanent scars on her face.
