Patriots Safety Arrested for Assault, Strangulation, & Drug Possession

New England Patriots defensive player Jabrill Peppers was arrested on Saturday (October 5). The 29-year-old athlete was charged with “assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class B substance believed to be cocaine,” the Braintree, Massachusetts police shared (via ESPN). Keep reading to find out more… The police shared that a women, who had been dating him “on and off” for three years, said Peppers allegedly assaulted her, choked her upwards of six times, disrobed her and forced her outside.

The police alleged he “shoved the woman to the ground, shoved her head into a wall and put his hands around her neck to strangle her.” Also allegedly found at the scene was a “clear bag containing white powder substances.” The woman, who was not identified, reportedly had injuries to her face and knee that were treated at the residence. Peppers plead not guilty on Monday (October 7).

The Patriots said they are “aware of an incident involving Jabrill Peppers over the weekend in which the police are currently investigating.” He previously played for the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.
