'Not my f***ing King' graffiti on Fallowfield Loop to be removed, council confirms
manchestereveningnews.co.ukAnti-royal graffiti that was spotted on the Fallowfield Loop on Monday will be cleaned later this week, officials have confirmed.
Passersby noticed the graffiti, which is under a railway bridge on the cycling and walking route in south Manchester. It was daubed on the bridge beside Kingsway.
Photos sent to the MEN show ‘not my f***ing King’ written in block capitals, written in white on a black background. The pictures were taken at 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday (May 7), just two days after Charles III’s coronation at Westminster Abbey. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community Now, Coun Lee-Ann Igbon, Manchester City Council Executive Member for Vibrant Neighbourhoods, has confirmed when the graffiti will be removed.
She said: "We sent a team out to assess and remove the message as soon as we were made aware of it today, however due to its size unfortunately it's going to be tomorrow (May 10) before it can be fully removed.” The councillor, who also represents Hulme on the council for Labour, added: "Offensive messaging of any kind has no place on the streets of Manchester and we will always take action against known offenders to deter them and prevent any recurrence."
