Nicholas Jerry Jonas (born September 16, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter and actor. Jonas began acting in theater at the age of seven, and released his debut single in 2002 which caught the attention of Columbia Records where Jonas formed a band with his older brothers, Joe and Kevin, known as the Jonas Brothers. The group released their debut studio album It's About Time through the Columbia label in 2006.
After leaving Columbia Records and signing with Hollywood Records, the group released their self-titled second studio album in 2007, which became their breakthrough record.
The band became prominent figures on the Disney Channel during this time, gaining a large following through the network and they appeared in the widely successful musical television film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010) as well as two of their own series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).
Brent Lang Executive Editor Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren will team up for the first-ever Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown’s“The Last Five Years.” The musical, a look at the flowering and dissolution of a romantic relationship, was first produced at Chicago’s Northlight Theatre in 2001.
It later mounted an Off Broadway show and inspired a 2014 film with Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. In the new production, Jonas will portray an up-and-coming author named Jamie, while Warren will play an aspiring actress named Cathy.
The two-person show follows them as they fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Jonas is no stranger to the Great White Way, having appeared in the 2012 revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” and, more recently, a residency with the Jonas Brothers in 2023.
Warren won a Tony for her galvanic performance as Tina Turner in “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.” She was also nominated for a Tony for her supporting role in “Shuffle Along.” Brown, who wrote the music, the lyrics and the book for “The Last Five Years,” is a Tony winner whose work includes “Parade” and “The Bridges of Madison County.” “The Last Five Years” will be directed by Whitney White, who recently oversaw the acclaimed production of “Jaja’s African Hair Braiding.” It will open on Broadway in the spring of 2025. “’The Last Five Years’ is one of the greatest original American musicals in the canon.
