New bid to solve 28-year-old mystery of missing Scots joiner Kevin McGuire

A new bid has been made to solve the mystery of a young married joiner who disappeared 28 years ago. Kevin McGuire went missing on December 31, 1994, from his remote home in Stronachlachar in Perthshire after an argument with his new wife Lisa on where they should spend the New Year.

The 27-year-old Glaswegian stormed out of the house, got into his green Saab and was never seen again. Now Kevin’s family – including his mum Annette, 77 – have joined forces with the UK-wide Missing Persons Support group.

Missing Persons Support, which has 16,000 members, has drafted a new poster detailing Kevin’s disappearance and new contact details for the police and Crimestoppers.

Kevin’s sister Sharon Garvin, 49, who lives in County Clare in Ireland, said: “Things never get easier for us despite the passage of time.
