Netflix's The Crown's Elizabeth Debicki accepts SAG Award barefoot after ditching heels

Everyone was glued to their screens watching the final instalment of The Crown when the finale aired last year. So it’s no wonder that Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, 33, took home the award for a Female Actor in a Drama Series, for her role as Princess Diana, at the SAG Awards on Saturday 25 February.

Elizabeth was up against the likes of Jennifer Aniston for The Morning Show, Bella Ramsey for The Last of Us, Keri Russell from The Diplomat and Sarah Snook who starred in Succession.

Viewers and people in the audience were thrilled for Elizabeth, but were thrown when she got on stage, accepted her award and announced that she was completely barefoot.

Taking to the stage, Elizabeth said: “I don’t have any shoes on.” The actress then went on to say: “Truly, I was not expecting this.
