Nelly Furtado has revealed that she thinks a potential Las Vegas residency with longtime collaborator Timbaland would be “really fun” – see more of what she had to say below. In a new chat with NME discussing her upcoming album ‘7’, the pop veteran took a look back at her career, which includes her seminal third album from 2006, ‘Loose’.

It marked the first time she would work with producer Timbaland, with the two later teaming up with Justin Timberlake on the 2007 hit ‘Give It To Me’ and most recently, last year’s ‘Keep Going Up’.‘Loose’ spawned numerous hits for Furtado and Timbaland, including songs like ‘Maneater’, ‘Promiscuous’, ‘Say It Right’, ‘In God’s Hands’ and ‘All Good Things (Come To An End)’.Talking about the album with NME, Furtado hinted at a potential residency celebrating the 2006 record: “I think it would be really fun for Timbaland and I to do a Vegas residency of ‘Loose’.

We could play the album from beginning to end, because I do think it captures the world we were in at the time.”Furtado further explained about why ‘Loose’ became as influential as it is today: “We didn’t want it to sound perfect.

We wanted it to sound real. The idea was [to lay] my trippy, melancholic, bittersweet melodies and lyrics over Tim’s heavy beats and make a dreamy type of mix within that.”Nelly Furtado’s next album, ‘7’, is due to arrive on September 20 – you can pre-save or pre-order the album here.
