Mum shares how she lost TWO STONE by just starting one hobby

With a white dress to fit into, Nicola McDonald had all the motivation she needed to lose weight ahead of her wedding day. The mum piled on the pounds over lockdown but managed to slim down before exchanging her vows in 2021.

But her size began to creep back up not long after she said “I do” - soon seeing her reach her heaviest weight of 15 stone. The 45-year-old, from Burnage, tried joining several different slimming groups but nothing seemed to help her shift the pounds. It wasn’t until a friend suggested the mum-of-one join slimming group Beeweighed that she finally started to notice a difference – seeing her lose around two stone and an incredible 19cm from her waist.

Nicola now weighs around 12 stone and went from a dress size 18 to a 14. She puts her weight loss success down to two things – calorie counting and her hobby of pole dancing. “I wasn’t losing weight or feeling happy with myself,” the former dinner lady said. “It seemed to work, doing it with Beeweighed.

Lynda [the owner] seemed to care more than other places I’ve been. I just felt like I was at home. “All slimming groups are friendly but Lynda seemed really positive and she always has a smile on her face. “I still feel like I’m fat, but when I go out people tell me I look amazing then I realise that I’ve done well and I’m doing okay. “We had our wedding to sort out and I lost weight for that, then we had the wedding and I put the weight back on.” Nicola says her biggest reason for gaining weight was regularly snacking on chocolate, bread and getting takeaways once a week. “It was all foods I knew I shouldn’t have been eating,” she
