A mum has paid a heartfelt tribute to her 'charming' little boy after he passed away just days after being admitted to hospital with stomach pains.

Ellis Hamer-Holland, 5, had been undergoing treatment for leukemia when he was admitted to Manchester Royal Children's Hospital with abdominal pains and discomfort in April 2022.

Paying tribute, mum Scarlett Holland said Ellis 'always had a grin on his face' and said the family are 'still struggling to come to terms with his passing'. "He absolutely loved monster trucks and the Disney movie Cars," Scarlett told the Manchester Evening News. "He loved to play on the Playstation." Scarlett explained how Ellis was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia - a type of cancer that affects white blood cells - in August 2019, when he was three.

He was treated, but relapsed on May 2021, and was given a bone marrow transplant in December of the same year. "Everything should have improved - but it didn't," Scarlett said.
