Man dies after horror motorbike crash on Scots road as police appeal for witnesses

A man has tragically died after crashing his motorbike on a rural countryside road in Argyll and Bute.Emergency services were called to the scene on the A85 between Dalmally and Tyndrum at around 4.10pm on Friday, July 21, following reports of an single-vehicle smash.The 67-year-old, who was riding a grey Kawasaki ZR1000 motorcycle, was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

The road was closed for several hours while a full accident investigation took place. It re-opened at 1.15am on Saturday.Officers are now appealing for anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to come forward.Sergeant Brian Simpson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.“I am appealing to anyone in the area at the time who saw what happened and not already spoken to officers to get in touch.“In addition, if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please also make contact with us.”Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2520 of Friday, July 21.
