Met Office verdict on when hot spell will 'peak' in Greater Manchester
manchestereveningnews.co.ukThe Met Office has given its verdict on how long the hot weather will last in Greater Manchester as August approaches. Today, Manchester was forecast highs of 28C, with some areas of the UK experiencing the hottest day of the year so far.
A high temperature of 31.9C was recorded at St James’s Park in central London, topping the previous record of 30.5C seen in June.
But if you were hoping for a continuation of the higher temperatures, you may be disappointed. According to the Met Office, the 'peak' of this week's hot spell will be today, with temperatures expected to drop a good few degrees again over the next couple of days, with a chance of rain falling over the weekend.
