Freddie Flintoff is making his TV comeback 18 months after the horror Top Gear crash that he was ‘lucky’ to survive. And the former England international cricketer say the experience changed him forever.
The star is returning to screens tonight (August 13) for the second series of the Field of Dreams On Tour, which has been two years in the making after filming was postponed to allow Freddie to recover.
The series not only follows the 46-year-old taking his Preston cricket team to compete in India, but covers Freddie’s own battle back to full health following the near fatal crash that left him suffering with “nightmares and flashbacks” and “crying every two minutes”. READ MORE: Coronation Street spoilers as Dee-Dee discovers Joel truth, Kit sparks suspicion and Alina confronted While filming for Top Gear on December 13, 2022, Freddie was driving an open-topped three-wheeled Morgan Super 3 on the test track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey, when it flipped over.
The BBC later apologised and announced it had “rested” Top Gear for the foreseeable future. Freddie reached a settlement with the BBC last year, reportedly worth £9m.
