Netflix have announced that Supacell will get a second season.The superhero series – which focuses on five Black South Londoners who have all been granted powers – has garnered acclaim from fans and critics alike, leaving many wondering whether there’d be a second season.Now, it’s been officially revealed that the TV show will continue on for another season.

Speaking about the renewal, show creator Rapman said: “I can’t wait for the world to see Supacell, Season 2.“For me season 1 was always an origin story,” he continued. “Season 2 is when the journey really begins.

Season 1 was my Batman Begins, Season 2 is my Dark Knight.”The creator also told Netflix’s companion site Tudum that “I’ve always had it [mapped out] to Season 3,” adding: “I know how Season 2 ends.

I’ve got stuff planned for this story. I’ve had this in my head for years, so I’m ready to go.”In an interview with NME in June this year, Rapman revealed that the show was an “education”. “For families in America, Africa, or Europe who want to know what south London is like, watch Supacell,” he said. “Take away the powers, that’s south London.”In the same interview, rapper Ghetts (who stars as villain Krazy) also spoke to NME on his decision to play the character, saying: “I’m a massive fan of DC and Marvel.
