McDonald's fans have been left feeling nostalgic as a 90s favourite has returned to its stores. The chain restaurant is known for its tasty yet affordable meals that are popular with people of all ages.

The menu tends to switch up depending on the time of year, as well as other promotions like Monopoly and - of course - the Happy Meal toy range. And now, McDonald's has announced a major change to its range of children's meals that many adults will likely want to get involved in.The Liverpool Echo reports that the chain has teamed up with Japanese cartoon company Pokémon and is giving away free cards with each Happy Meal. The cartoon series featuring the much-loved yellow character of Pikachu was massively popular worldwide during the 1990s and remains so to this day.The exciting game of trading cards was an unstoppable trend that took the world by storm. Some schools were even forced to ban the cards due to the amount of arguments and disputes that the game would cause.

So it's no surprise that avid fans were over the moon when a picture of the new Pokémon cards was shared on the UK Newest Foods Instagram account, with many saying they couldn't wait to get their hands on them.Laura said: "Oh the nostalgia", while Tadi said: "Love it".

Tagging a friend, Emily said: "You're gonna be over the moon" and Ricky said: "May need to start eating Happy Meals". Sophie also tagged a friend and added: "Next Maccies we're getting a happy meal then [laughing emoji]" [sic].The cards are available in McDonald's Happy Meals from now until Tuesday, October 3.
