Manchester United will be looking for a result against Newcastle tonight and hoping to avoid three defeats on the spin. Despite their 14th loss of the season, United produced a better performance in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
Erik ten Hag's side gave the Gunners' a tough test at a leaky Old Trafford, however a Leandro Trossard goal, gifted to Arteta's team after another Casemiro mistake in the first half, sealed the points for the visitors.
The fact that United were the better team for large parts of the game and probably deserved a point at least will give them hope they can go into tonight's clash in the hope they can salvage a European spot through their league finish.
United have not beaten the Magpies in the league since September 2021 when they thrashed Newcastle 4-1 at Old Trafford, however Eddie Howe's men have had an inconsistent campaign and United will be keen to take advantage.
