Selena Kuznikov A Disneyland employee died of her injuries Friday after falling from a moving golf cart at the theme park two days prior.
Anaheim Police and Anaheim Fire and Rescue personnel arrived at the resort Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m. PT to the area of West Ball Road and South West Street in response to a collision that occurred backstage, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The employee, later identified by the Orange Country Coroner Division as 60-year-old Fullerton resident Bonnye Mavis Lear, struck her head after falling from the moving golf cart and was taken to a local hospital in grave condition.
Lear died from her injuries Friday, two days after being hospitalized for severe head trauma. “We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye, and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, said in a statement shared with Variety. “At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.” Lear, who worked at Disneyland Resort for 24 years, most recently supported membership services at Club 33, a private dining club located in the New Orleans Square area of the theme park.
