Manchester United hero John O’Shea has told Jadon Sancho that apologising to Erik ten Hag is the only way to find a quick resolution to his standoff.

The winger has been excluded from first-team training after refusing to say sorry to his boss for accusing him of lying about the reason he was dropped from the squad against Arsenal.

In a now-deleted social media post, the 23-year-old said that the manager’s accusation that his training levels were poor was "completely untrue" and claimed he had been a "scapegoat for a long time".

O’Shea says the situation is straight-forward and the only way to enact a quick return to the pitch is to apologise.
